The Bang Bang Club

O Bang Bang Club foi um nome associado a quatro fotógrafos activos dentro das townships da África do Sul durante o período de Apartheid, particularmente entre 1990 e 1994, a partir da libertação de Nelson Mandela da prisão até as eleições de 1994. Kevin Carter, Greg Marinovich, Ken Oosterbroek, e João Silva foram os quatro associados ao nome. Um filme sobre o grupo, dirigido por Steven Silver e Taylor Kitsch com Phillippe Ryan e Åkerman Malin, estreou no Festival Internacional de Cinema de Toronto em 2010.

Does It Offend You, Yeah?

Does It Offend You, Yeah? é uma banda britânica de música electrónica/rock. Além dos seus próprios projectos também realizaram remixes para vários artistas como Bloc Party, The Faint, The White Stripes, entre outros. A banda lançou seu primeiro disco, You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into em 2008.
Recentemente lançaram um novo album chamado "Don't Say We Didn't Warn You". Confesso estar morta por o ouvir. Recomendo que ouçam o primeiro album, o som é incrível. É capaz de despertar uma fúria dentro de nós, despertar paixão e coragem.

“Natural talent should be rising to the top,” argues James Rushent, vehemently, “but it doesn’t anymore. The shit’s rising to the top… a lot of this album is two fingers up to a lot of people, the people that think that to be a successful band you’ve got to write soul music, which I think is fucking bollocks, you don’t have to do that… At the minute, if you conform and be really boring and obvious, you get rewarded. Do you need a heart anymore to listen to the radio? I don’t think so… It’s all the same, why are we giving awards out?... Talented artists are starting to go to the dark side. I said it to Plan B, I said ‘you’re first record wasn’t a massive hit but it was quite interesting, what are you doing now?’ He got really offended by that. I went ‘why are you getting offended by that? Is it because I’m right?’”

Sneaker Pimps

Sneaker Pimps é uma banda de trip hop formado no ano de 1995 em Hartlepool, na Inglaterra, seguindo o sucesso do disco Dummy, do Portishead, e do Maxinquaye, doTricky. Enquanto a vocalista Kelli Dayton atrai a atenção da mídia, os responsáveis pelo som do grupo são Chris Corner (guitarra) e Liam Howe (teclados), que escrevem as letras e produzem as músicas. Seu primeiro single foi lançado em maio de 1996. "Tesko Suicide" recebeu excelentes críticas na imprensa britânica.
Recomendo a procura de outras músicas tais como Sick já interpretada pelo Chris Corner que ocupou o lugar da Kelli quando ela saiu da banda. Esta mudança pode para muitos ter arruinado toda a banda e o seus som, mas para mim continua a dar uma grande sensualidade e swagger à música. 
Para quem gosta de outro tipo de batida sem fugir ao estilo dos Sneaker Pimps recomendo Walking Zero (Tuff & Jam Unda-Vybe Vocal). Não acredito que se irão arrepender de abrir os braços a esta banda.

Chase & Status - End Credits ft Plan B

Chase and Status, Saul e Will respectivamente a darem uma batida a que não consigo escapar. Grandes vocais do Ben Drew, também conhecido como Plan B. Este grande senhor também é rapper. E sim, é muito bom e a sua voz entra num estado completamente diferente, passa de soft a agressivo. Sugiro Stay Too Long - Plan B se quiserem verificar a mudança que a voz dele faz.

London duo Chase & Status experimented with elements of hip-hop, indie and even Bollywood on last year's debut album More Than Alot. So well-regarded were the results that they landed the pair – Saul Milton and Will Kennard - a production gig on the new Rihanna album. Now, making the most of the buzz, they're back with new single 'End Credits'.
Kicking off with a simple guitar riff that could almost pass for The Feeling, it's only when the beats drop around the minute mark that this becomes an identifiably Chase & Status affair. Combining their thumpingly effective d&b beats with strings, more guitars and Plan B's tender vocals, 'End Credits' has a soaring, cinematic feel while remaining perky enough to pack out the dancefloor. Proof positive, then, why Chase & Status are now being sought out by pop A-listers.
